Top Tips for Optimal Health & Comfort During Pregnancy

Some tips to help make your pregnancy that little bit more comfortable.

Do more:
· Stretches of your pelvic muscles.

· Learn how to do pelvic floor deactivation.

· Take a quality prenatal supplement

· Drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated

· Enjoy quality organic wholefood meals with plenty of colourful fresh vegetables. Eat the rainbow

· Pilates, yoga, swimming (no breast stroke kick) and moderate intensity exercise to maintain a level of fitness and flexibility. ‍♀️

· Prenatal specific acupuncture and massage.‍♀️

· Sit on your “seat bones” with your pelvis tilited forward and your knees lower than your hips.

· Avoid reclining back.

· Create habits to help decrease stress levels as this can have a big impact on your child’s health.

· Pelvic rocking and figure 8’s on a fitness ball.

· Get yourself checked by a pregnancy chiropractor.

· Get a good team of professionals around you that you are comfortable with – remember you are the MVP and we should all be here to support you.

Do less:
· Try to avoid sustained sitting – get up and move around as much as you can.

· Ditch the high heels! Choose comfortable and supportive shoes at all times.

· Avoid carrying toddlers and children on your hip as it can create pelvic misalignment causing pelvic floor imbalance.

· Reduce your exposure to toxic beauty products, cosmetics and household cleaners.

· Avoid wearing bra’s and tops that restrict your rib cage – your rib cage is meant to expand to create space for baby.

· Avoid crossing legs, sitting on a soft couch or recliners which can strain your sacrum and pelvis.
