Meet Dr Theunis Nieuwoudt
Chiropractor
Hi, I’m Dr T
I’m originally from South Africa and am fluent in Afrikaans as well as English. I was a late comer to the great benefits of Chiro care, in fact it wasn't until my second year of chiropractic studies that I had my first adjustment.
I played Rugby Union and multiple other sports at a high level and when my old injuries started to impact my life significantly I turned to regular chiropractic care. Due to the type of care provided and the way my body was now able to perform in sports it sparked a passion for Sports Chiropractic.
I’ve completed my Cert 4 and Diploma in Remedial massage therapy while studying my Chiropractic degree which enabled me to work with a large range of general population and local athletes. By having a great insight in the muscular system from the massage and combining it with my 5 year Masters of Chiropractic degree I have gained extensive knowledge in my field.
In Mackay, I set up the Sports Chiropractic Student group for Central Queensland University where he was president for one year before finishing my studies in 2018. I transitioned into a Board role for the Sports Chiropractic Association QLD in 2018 and was honoured with the QLD Chair position in 2019 to present.
During my time as a student I volunteered at many events and since becoming Chair I have coordinated and treated at many more events including:
Sunshine Coast Ironman 70.3
Sunshine Coast Marathon
Crossfit Australia/NZ Team Series 2018
Asia Pacific Powerlifting Championship
National Uni Games Div 1 and Div 2
Aussies National Lifesaving Championships
National Volleyball Competition
AIMS Sports Festival
My clients refer to me as Dr T! And I live a very active lifestyle with my fiancé Dr Georgia. I enjoy exercise and sport of all nature. I love to listen to music and live for my coffee and especially food!
I’m very passionate about chiropractic care and its benefits and would love to share his knowledge with you.
